Pandemonium Gems
Oh no! Once again, while studying a new spell you accidentally trapped yourself inside a gem. Arrange the lattice carefully, and use the flashing energized facets to melt similar colored facets before the energies solidify and you are trapped forever.
Wizard's Journal - March 7th, 2025 I can energize facets by channeling the crystalline forces produced by arranging the lattice. Energized facets flash and glow and melt similar colored facets when arranged, which produces even more energy! I just have to make sure I'm not completely stuck before my assistant can break the gem and let me free. Hopefully she'll check back in the laboratory before the long weekend... Pick Up Gem -> Left Click Place Gem -> Left Click in Gem Hring Rotate Gem -> Mouse Wheel or Right Click or Space Return Gem -> Left Click on Gem Formation Cwiþ Place flashing gem facets next to facets with the same base color to melt them, score points, and earn more flashing facets. |
How to read the score meter in the top right:
Yellow: 1, Green: 5, Blue: 10, Purple: 50, Pink: 100, Orange: 500
Add 'em up. Gem math system is approximate.

Nice!
this was great a lot of fun and the sound effects are awesome
Thanks!
good work!
Thanks!
ok that last bit of instructions makes things a lot more clear haha. I think the "explosive" bits having another color is a bit confusing, what if they flashed white?

In any case its amazing how much character you've put into "just colored squares", a couple transitions and some intriguing sounds. I wish I could do that XDD
Nicely done! Flashing white would have probably been way smarter.
you think so? you can still change it if you want right?
Out of curiosity, whats the logic behind the "detonators", how does the game decide when to spawn them, their color etc
Yeah def can still change it! Whenever you place a tile or melt a facet, you get one "bomb credit". It's the bar in the bottom right. Whenever it fills up one of the facets chosen randomly on you unplaced tiles becomes a bomb. So it depends on what tiles you have left unplaced. I think a strategy would be to clear out big chunks of a certain color, and leave behind a different color, if possible, to try to influence what color becomes a bomb next.
funny number
nice
312! I see the Domino Grove influence, but I like the direction you took it. I definitely take it more personally here when the board fills up, haha.
Screenshot for proof :)
Nicely done!
This game looks pretty but .... ? I have zero idea how to play. "Energized facets glow and melt similar facets when arranged" Do they? I place squares with similar facets near each other but nothing happens. I has confusion :O
Some gems flash with a kind of pink color (bombs), if you place them next to gems of the same base color, all the touching base-color gems will melt. And then you'll get more bombs.
I edited some of the instructions to make it a little more clear, thanks so much for the feedback corps!
I feel completely stupid. I have looked at the gifs and read the revised instructions and still this game is completely opaque to me D:
Oh no! Sorry bud! I'll put up a playthrough video once I get over a cold. It is a hard game where I probably don't break 100 points most of the time, so don't feel too bad.
High score challenge for cool and smart wizards: can you beat this?
